Coordinates Sync
For easier and faster searching by radius, geolocation data is stored in separate table, if you are upgrading to MAL 1.1.0, and have some ads already created you can add them to this table using MAL Sync plugin.
Using this plugin is very simple, download zip file, then go to wp-admin / Plugins / Add New / Upload panel and install and activate it from there. Next go to wp-admin / Tools / MAL Sync, you should see either:
- “Sync Now!” button – click it and Sync plugin will update geolocation data for all your Ads
- “Create Now!” button – it shows, if MAL is for some reason unable to create the custom table, the button allows to create the table again.
Maps with Adverts Shortcode
Since version 1.2.0 there is shortcode available, it allows to display Ads on a Google Map, the shortcode has following attributes

- autolocation: boolean (default false)
- width: string (default “100%”) – sets map width either in percentages or pixels
- height: string (default “500px”) – sets map height either in percentages or pixels, although for height pixels are recommended
- disable_filter: int (default 0) – if set to 1 the filter on map will not show
- redirect_to: string (default “”) – either ID or an URL to page where user will be redirected when searching
- form_scheme: string (default null) – this should be a name of a form scheme to use. The form scheme will be applied to the search bar on map. This parameter should be used only if you have Custom Fields add-on installed and some custom forms configured.
- js_engine: string (default “google”) – one of “google” and “osm” allows selecting if you want to use Google or Open Street Maps.
- js_search_form: (for developers only) – a CSS class pointing to <form> which will be used a search form for the map.
- js_search_submit: (for developers only) – a CSS class pointing to a button or input which submits the js_search_form.
- js_results_list: (for developers only) – a CSS class pointing to a <div> which will show results.
- js_results_pagination: (for developers only) – a CSS class pointing to a <div> which will show pagination.

Best Raid Addons WoW
12. Deadly Boss Mod
Fighting bosses in WoW can be a real pain. Of course, that’s kind of the idea behind boss fights.
The problem is WoW has A LOT of bosses and many of them are difficult. Defeating some of the higher-end bosses can require you to play against them multiple times until you have their attack patterns etc. memorized.
Who has time for that?
Luckily there are WoW add ons for this too.
Deadly Boss Mods uses alerts and camera effects to warn you of a boss’s heavy-hitting attacks or just to give you simple instructions.
This means that even if it is the first time you’re going up against a boss you should have some idea what’s going on. This is especially great for newer players who might feel like they’re holding their party back.
Another feature of this addon is the ability to auto-reply to in-game messages during boss fights.
If you get a whisper the addon will let your friends know that you’re otherwise preoccupied saving the world and will let them know how much HP the boss has left as an indicator of how long you’ll be.
The Deadly Boss Mod is one of the best WoW addons for raids and bosses.
13. Details! Damage Meter
If you want to maximize your party/ guild’s raid performance then you need to install Details!
Its main feature is its ability to sift through your party’s combat data to provide you with charts that show each party member’s damage and healing numbers.
This means you can see how well you’re playing but also make sure everyone in your party is pulling their weight.
The data is invaluable in analyzing your performance and seeing where your party can improve. You can then do further analysis through Details! advanced death logs and debuff timelines.
Finally, you can use the addon to see which items and talents your raid members are running with and their item level.
You can even use all this data to build Guild rankings to show which members contributed most against which bosses.
If you’re all about teamwork and efficiency then Details! is for you. It’s most definitely one of the best WoW addons for raids and party cohesion.
14. Omen
If you play a lot of MMOs you’ll be familiar with the concept of aggro.
In WoW, enemies don’t just attack the player nearest to them. Instead, individual monsters decide who to attack by assessing who is the biggest threat and then they go after them.
The AI behind this is complicated but it all comes down to what skills characters are using. Omen is a threat meter that tells you who in your group is pulling aggro or is about to.
This is ideal during raids when the tank is the only one who can survive the boss’s attacks. If your squishy damage dealer is close to pulling aggro then Omen will tell them what to back off to avoid aggroing the boss.
Unfortunately, Blizzard reworked how enemies assess a threat and this has severely limited the scope of what Omen can do.
It’s still a useful tool but we suggest reading up on its limitations on the download page before you rely on it too much.
15. GTFO
The best WoW addons don’t have to be complicated. Sometimes the simplest WoW add ons are some of the most useful.
Case in point- all GTFO does is play an alarm sound when your character is standing in something unpleasant.
How many times have you been overwhelmed in a boss battle and died because you didn’t release you were taking environmental damage?
How many times have you been knocked out by an attack you really should have dodged? Well, GTFO keeps you alert and makes sure you’re not knocked out by anything stupid.
Other WoW mods might give you visual alerts but nothing works better than a nice loud alarm.
16. Mythic Dungeon Tools
Mythic Dungeon Tools is a pop WoW Shadowlands addon. The Mythic + Dungeon system introduced with shadowlands is a system that rewards flawless execution of a raid.
Flawless execution requires planning. Mythic Dungeon tools is a set of fully interactive maps for the Mystic + dungeons.
Every enemy in every dungeon is mapped out. These enemies can then be divided up into different pools.
As you and your party members work your way through the dungeon progress bars for each group of enemies will fill up on the map.
What this all means is that you and your party can create a plan before going into a dungeon and annotate the route and who kills what on the map.
As you make further attempts in the dungeon you can perfect your plan. Mythic Dungeon Tools is one of the most downloaded WoW Shadowlands addons for a reason.

19. TomTom
If you’re of a certain age you can probably remember TomTom sat-nav. It’s what everyone’s Dad had stuck to the dashboard before GoogleMaps and in-built satnav became standard.
Well, the TomTom addon is a handy sat-nav tool for WoW, because who doesn’t hate getting lost.
Just type in a set of coordinates, or select a spot on the map, and TomTom will give you a handy green arrow to follow.
Especially useful, as soon as you die TomTom will provide you with directions back to your body.
20. SexyMap
Looking to spice up your map UI? Give Sexymap a try.
Don’t worry, it’s nothing inappropriate.
SexyMap replaces the boring old default minimap with some more stylized presets like Emerald Dream and Elemental Fury.
The add-on won’t revolutionize your experience but it will make it a little easier on the eyes.
21. MBB Reborn
The more add-ons you have, the more cluttered your minimap is going to become. This şs because so many of these addons are used to track things like resource points, enemy locations, etc.
MBB reborn is a super helpful add-on that negates this problem. It takes all these new, addon-related buttons and hides them away behind one single button.
When you need to deal with an addon, click the button and they’re all lşsted nice and neat.
If there’s one add-on button you use more than the rest don’t worry. You can use Ctrl+Right Click on that specific addon to have it displayed on the minimap.
Addons are great and MBB is just a super useful tool to help them work together and keep your screen free of clutter.
There is an absolute ton of addons for WoW and this list barely scratches the surface. Instead, we’ve just listed the most useful that we’ve so far.
Most of these addons have downloads that reach into the millions so you know they are safe to download and will more than likely play well together unless stated specifically.
You should always be careful when downloading WoW addons and only do so though from trusted sources.
The best thing about these WoW mods is that none of them are cast as cheating by WoW so your account is safe. Even better, none of them really give you an unfair advantage so using them is guilt-free.
The best Wow add ons are all about making your life easier and encouraging teamwork.

Enhance battlefield map
This setting features lots of customisation for the battlefield map. You can unlock the battlefield map frame (the default UI does allow this but it’s clunky), center the battlefield map on the player, change the size of the player arrow and group icons, change the battlefield map size (up to 400%), change the battlefield map opacity and increase the maximum zoom level (all the way up to 600%).
Disable reading emote
When you open the map, your character does the reading emote. This is cute but what if you are in a dungeon and you don’t want others to know that you’re lost? By disabling the reading emote, nobody will ever know you’re looking at the map.

Advanced Fields Configuration
Below the basic configuration, you can find Advanced Fields Configuration, it applies mainly to Google Autocomplete, but is also used in Location taxonomy to determine based on level, what kind of region (country, state, city or postal code, address) does the taxonomy represent.
As you can see each region has 3 fields:
- Taxonomy Level – in the setting as visible on the screen, countries will be at level 0, states at level 1 and cities at level 2. Postal Code and Address will not be saved in taxonomies as this can contain private data which most of the time users do not want to share.
- Field Type – allows selecting how the field will be displayed when entering a location (in advanced form after clicking “change” button). It’s recommended not to allow users to edit fields which you will be saving in taxonomies.
- Name Type – Google Autocomplete sometimes returns region name in two forms: short and long. You can decide here which one you want to use.
Location Taxonomy
Location Taxonomy allows administrator group places / locations in hierarchical order. For example, country USA has a child (state) “NY” which has its own child (city) “New York”.
In order to configure location taxonomies (create terms) go to wp-admin / Classifieds / Locations panel. If you are new to WordPress and unsure how to add / edit / delete location there please refer to WordPress: Manage Categories documentation.
It works pretty much the same for WPAdverts Locations, except when editing a location you can set the location place on the map. To set the term location, first add a new Location, next click on it to edit. When a page will load at the bottom you should see a map similar to the one below:
There are few ways to set term location on the map:
- Enter the location in the input box and click “Search …” next to it or hit enter, this should take you to the exact location.
- Drag the pin to the desired place on the map.
- Change zoom value to zoom in or out the map.
- Click Edit button and provide exact Latitude and Longitude.

If you spend a lot of your game time gathering resources for crafting or for making money in the auction house then you’ll want to look at GatherMate.
The addon drops a little indicator on your map and minimap every time you gather a resource. This means when you revisit an area you’ll be able to work out the most efficient route for gathering resources.
Or if you have a favorite resource gathering area you can find the areas where resources are the most plentiful and avoid the scarcer areas.

About entering a location in Ads
Before we go into configuration details, there is one important decision (by important I mean hard to change later when your Ads database will grow) you need to make. The decision is how do you want to enter Ads location? The “Maps and Locations” add-on (short MAL) allows two methods: using Google Places Autocomplete or using a normal dropdown field filled with location taxonomy. I will describe the pros and cons of each below so you can make an informed decision:
Google Places Autocomplete
- users will fill locations database when adding new Ads, so less work for you.
- allows users to quickly fill location with one click.
- locations are applied to Ads, so the Google Map can show the specific point on map, for example, a street number.
- more complicated setup and usage than in the second method
- locations database can be filled only with locations available in Google Places API
Taxonomy Dropdown
- you need to fill the locations database manually from wp-admin panel
- locations are applied to Terms, so usually on maps, the marker will point to zip-code or city only.
- easy for users, they just need to pick a location from the select box
Configuration
Once you have the add-on installed, go to wp-admin / Classifieds / Options / Maps and Locations panel in order to configure it. You should see form similar to the one below:
There are following fields in the form:
- Google API Key, you can get the API key as explained at the beginning of this article, once you enter it make sure to click “Check” button to make sure your API key is valid.
- Location Field, as explained in previous chapter select how you would like to enter locations in the shortcode and in wp-admin panel (basically every time you post or edit an Ad). Note that if you select Google Autocomplete option, few more fields to fill will show.
- Location Format – select how you would like to have the location displayed once user will fill the form (notice bold “New York, NY” on the right side of the first image). This will apply only to the form, on Ad details page location will display as a taxonomy path.
- Options – currently only one option, checking it allows to fill location with a single click, the location is picked from user browser. In other words, the single click allows filling the location form with current user location (notice blue crosshair on the first image).
- Language – allows to select Google Autocomplete language, this will not only set the UI language but will also return results localized.
- Limit Results To – enter two-letter ISO-3166-1 country code here, this will force Google Autocomplete to return results for your selected country only.
Ok, let us get back to the basic configuration:
Configuration, here you can replace the default search by location input text with either: auto-complete field or a drop-down.
Left side: entering a location using drop-down. Right side: entering a location using autocomplete input.
- Radius (since 1.1.0), checking this check box will enable search by radius and it will automatically insert Radius drop down into search form.
- Distance Unit (since 1.1.0), this field allows to select how do you want to measure distance, allowed options are either kilometers or miles.
Ad Details Page – Use Map, allows to enable / disable displaying Google Map on Ad details page.

Ad Details Page – Map Visibility: allows selecting if the map should be visible on page load or on click on the “show on map” button. If you select visibility on page load then the “show on map” link will not be visible, so it will not be possible to hide the map.

Classic
Leatrix Maps for Wow Classic has some additional settings.
Set map opacity
With this setting, you can change the map opacity. There are two slider controls — one for when your character is stationary and one for when your character is moving. You can also choose to show the stationary opacity while the pointer is over the map (just like in retail).
Class colored icons
The Classic map only shows tiny, mono dots for other players. With this setting, other players are shown with class icons just like in retail. You can also change the size of the icons (up to 400%).
Auto change zones
If the map is open when your character changes zones, it won’t automatically show the new zone until you close the map and open it again. If you want to change that, this setting is for you.
Show points of interest
You can show dungeons and raids, travel points for same faction (this includes flight points, boat harbors, zeppelin towers and tram stations), travel points for the opposing faction, spirit healers and zone crossings (these are clickable arrows that indicate zone exit pathways).

Show unexplored areas
Do you like the fog of war? If not, this setting reveals the entire map. You can also see unexplored areas in a different color if you wish to make it easier to see which areas you haven’t explored.
Show coordinates
Nice and simple. Adds player and cursor coordinates to the bottom of the world map frame. Note that coordinates don’t work inside dungeons as the game API doesn’t allow it.
Enhance dungeon icons
The built-in dungeon icons are great but they only show where the middle of the dungeon is on the map. They don’t always show where the entrance is and when you open the map to find a dungeon, that’s the only thing you want to know. So this setting places the dungeon icons where the dungeon entrances are. It will also add some additional icons to the map showing the location of portals and a couple of other things (such as the chests in Ahn’Qiraj).
Flattening and Unflattening Complex Objects With Mapster
By default, Mapster will perform flattening for us. Let’s say that we have a entity that has the property with the property inside it. Now we can add a new property called to our class. At that point, Mapster will perform the mapping without any additional configuration.
