WOW CLASSIC AUCTIONEER ADDON GUIDE

Once you’ve done your two weeks of scanning (once in the morning, once at night), it’s time to set up your Auctioneer so you can start making some gold. There are a few things we’re going to focus on here, and I’ll go through them step by step. First: You’re going to need to decide how much of a discount you want the items to be posted at. Let me give you an example. Let’s say a ring normally sells for 100g. You tell Auctioneer that you only want to bid on/buy items that are listed at a 60% discount. This would mean that ring would need to be listed at 40g before you’d be okay purchasing it for resale. When you’re just starting out I would recommend you use a larger discount, something like 50%. Once you get used to your server’s market you can change that. I personally use a 30% discount now, but for years I used 50% and I was very happy with it. Second: You’re going to need to decide if you want Auctioneer to look for a «Seen Count». This means it’ll only show you items that it’s seen a lot of. I always use this. Basically I don’t want to bid on or buy anything unless it’s been on the auction house at least 50 times, so my seen count is always 50. This prevents me from purchasing an item that’s only been up two or three times. Items that have only been up a few times are easily manipulated and you can end up paying a lot of gold for something that doesn’t warrant the cost. Third: You’re going to need to decide if you only want to buy items that have a buy out price, or if you’re willing to bid on items to get a better price. I use both bids and buy outs, but for a long time I only used buy outs, instant gratification and all. Now I’m happy to bid then sit back and wait to see if I get the item. If I do, great, if not, no big deal, there will be other items another time. Fourth: Decide how you want your market valued. There are several options in Auctioneer, but I only use the Market Value. It has always worked for me, I know what to expect, so I stick with it.Fifth: Do you want to subtract your auction and deposit fees? I do. I want to know that my profit is pure profit, so I don’t want any additional fees taken out of that gold. I let Auctioneer take it out on the front end and just leave off any auctions that wouldn’t garner me enough gold with those fees removed. Sixth: How many times will you relist the item on average? Since many items charge a fee each time you list, I find it helpful to tell Auctioneer to estimate that I’ll relist each item ten times. That way, if I do have to relist ten times, I have still made my original profit. If I have to list less, I’ve made even more, yay!***NOTE — You only have to do these steps ONCE! After that, set it and forget it.***Seventh: Once you’ve entered your search parameters and decided on your purchases, just go check your mailbox and collect your loot. Head back to the AH, then use Auctioneer’s «Batch Post» function to post all of your items. You will have to go in and tell it that it is okay to batch post, and you will have to do this once for each item, but only once. I had already sold or mailed all of my auctions by the time I added this next part, so I stripped my bank toon of her starter clothes to illustrate a few things. First, here’s a great example of someone trying to inflate the price of an item. I took off my starter boots and went to the Appraiser tab in Auctioneer. I was shocked to see it telling me I should use a market price of over 100 Gold! (Also, shame on you, Dusting)You have to watch out for this, know your items, don’t get swindled.

In order to make your posting very easy, simply click that little box in the upper right hand corner that says «Enable Batch Posting». You only have to do it once for each item. Click the item on the left, then click «EnabIe Batch Posting», click the next item on the left, rinse and repeat. I recommend doing this when you buy new items, just click that box so you don’t have to mass click it a bunch of times when you have fifty auctions going.

The way you batch post will likely vary by whatever computer you’re using (I game on a Mac), but it’s easy enough to hover on the Batch Post button to see the specific instructions for your machine.

Scanning

You can tell AuctionLite to scan all listings in the auction house by clicking the «Full Scan» button on the «Buy» tab.

After all auction data has been retrieved, AuctionLite will analyze the data and record the current market prices for later use. AuctionLite will take into account how frequently and how recently you’ve scanned, so there’s no need to worry about how often you scan. Note that if you cancel the scan by closing the auction house, no data will be recorded.

AuctionLite also stores all price data from your scans in the «Buy» and «Sell» tabs, so even if you don’t scan frequently, the prices for items that you buy and sell will stay up to date.

Deals

After you’ve completed a full scan, AuctionLite will search for all items in the auction house that are underpriced relative to previous scans, and it will show you these items ranked by potential profit. If you navigate away from this screen, you can recall the list of deals from the last scan of your current AH visit by going to «Advanced» and clicking «Show Deals». To set the parameters for this search, go to the AuctionLite options screen (in the «Advanced» menu) and set the minimum profit and the minimum discount relative to previous prices.

Quick Start

Buying items: Type an item name into the «Buy» tab and click «Search». (You don’t have to fill in a quantity.) Select the listings you want to buy, click «Buyout», and then click «Approve». Due to Blizzard’s addon restrictions, you will have to click «Approve» once for each listing.

• Control-right-click an item in your bags from any AH tab to search on the «Buy» tab
• Use shift-click and control-click to select and purchase multiple listings

Selling items: Drag an item from your bags into the «Sell» tab slot. Enter the number and size of the stacks you’d like to sell, adjust prices if necessary, and click «Create Auction».

• Alt-right-click an item in your bags from any AH tab to load it into the «Sell» tab
• Click on any competing auction to undercut that auction
• Use the tab key to jump between fields
• Hit enter to start the auction

Scanning: Click «Full Scan» on the «Buy» tab. When scanning is complete, you’ll get a list of the best deals currently available at the auction house.

• If you navigate away from the deals page, use «Show Deals» in the «Advanced» menu to return
• If you are disconnected during scanning, try disabling the fast scan feature (use «/al config»)

Other features:

• To search for your own listings (and your competition), choose «Show My Auctions» from the «Advanced» menu
• Click the checkmark next to any item in the «Buy» tab to mark it as a favorite, and then select «Show Favorites» from the «Advanced» menu to search for all your favorites at once
• Go straight to your preferred tab when opening the AH
• Open all your bags when visiting the AH

ElvUI for WoW Dragonflight

ElvUI is the global addon for the WoW interface. Even though Blizzard has significantly improved all the frames and UI, some things are still not as you want them to be. The most flexible UI addon is ElvUI. You can remove all the default interface elements and replace them with very customizable frames. This is a user interface for WoW, created as a replacement and logical development of the old game interface to meet all the requirements of the modern MMO audience. It is extremely flexible for different roles and different preferences. It is very minimalistic and easy to get used to.

As such, many of the interface elements will never require you to install additional addons but simply to configure particular functions using the ElvUI menu. The ElvUI menu can be accessed using the Game Menu or with a special chat command: /ec.

ElvUI combines many of the most popular interface improvements, such as raid frames, spell bars, and bag configuration. 

Useful, informative displays are also worth mentioning – you can easily track the amount of currency or resources you are interested in, the strength of the reservation, the number of available slots in the bag, etc.

Because of the customizability, it takes some time to set everything up, but don’t be afraid to use this addon – there are a lot of guides for ElvUI settings on YouTube.

Unlike most of the other addons, you can’t download it with the Curseforge app. The only way to download it – is from the Tukui ElvUI website.

The most popular addon on Curseforge – that says a lot. DBM tells you whenever you need to cast, interrupt, dispel, avoid some boss mechanics, and so on. This addon is used by most top guild players and helps you perform better.

WeakAuras

WeakAuras is the addon to display highly customizable graphs on your UI to track buffs, debuffs, and other relevant information. This addon was created to replace Power Auras but has introduced more functionalities and a more attractive and easy-to-use interface. WeakAuras is a highly powerful and flexible framework that is almost a must-have addon.

VuhDo is a great addon for changing unit frames. It’s often used by healers but may be useful for any spec and class. It’s very informative and helps you to dispel and heal whenever it’s necessary.

Auctionator

Auctionator is a user-friendly addon that helps you with the auction experience, making it much faster, more efficient, and more pleasant. However, if you want to focus more on gold making via auction selling and professions, I’d recommend using TSM instead.

If you’re Alliance, choose a human and run her to Stormwind. If you’re Horde, choose Undead and run her to Undercity. Do not sell anything from your other toons. Funnel it all to your bank toon, have her buy and sell things, then just send your other toons money from your bank toon as needed. I also recommend keeping your bank toon out of your guild and giving it a name that no one would associate with you. Understanding What a “Great” Deal Is

When doing searches, the most important things to look for are the PCT columns and the number of times seen on the Auction House in the items description. The PCT column shows you the percentage at which the item is being sold for based on its most seen price. The percentages are color coded as well. For example, if an item is being sold for 100 gold and the PCT value shows 50%, its saying that you could very well buy the item and sell it for at least 200 gold.

Use the PCT column when buying anything. A blue colored PCT value means the item is way under what the item typically goes for and will yield you the best profits. A green PCT value means that its a few gold or silver under its average price. A yellow PCT value means that the price is the same as the average and a red PCT value means it’s listed far over the average price. Avoid items with yellow and red PCT values as you will either loose gold or only be gaining a few copper.

Keep Updating!

It is extremely imperitive to do daily searches. If you don’t all your information will be ‘out of date’ and you will end up making silly purchases and auctions. The system isn’t automated so you have to be constantly on the look out. Searches should be done at least 3 times a day for as many consecutive days as you can. The economy in World Of Warcraft is much like the real world economy in that it can change in a momemnts notice.

There could be 50 stacks of runecloth on the auction house at 5 o’clock selling for 2 gold a stack and three days later they could be selling for 20 gold a stack. In that case you would know when is the best time to sell runecloth and when the best time is to buy runecloth.

This guide covered the basics more in depth than most guides you see out there. However, there are a few options you can play with if you wanted to. The options are more for narrowing your search down to specific items. You are encouraged to play and test these options when you have done a few scans at least.
