Faster Loot addon

You might not notice it at first, but looting can take a long time when added up, even with auto loot enabled in your options. Most players have resigned themselves to a 2 to 3 second window popup causing them to pause between every kill and just see it as unavoidable. Not with Faster Loot! This addon will make your loot window flash by with enough speed that sometimes you’ll be unable to see it. Best check your bags to see if you got an Epic! With the hundreds (if not thousands) of mobs we will be grinding in Dragonflight, this simple addon can save you hours of playtime over a long enough period. Even after you reach max level, this is still a great addon to have.

Dugi Guides Dragonflight leveling guides

Dugi Guides have been making WoW Guides in the form of addons for many years, and have always been very dependable when it comes to new guides for new expansions, including WoW Classic and related expansions. They have also released Dragonflight leveling guides, which are viewable inside WoW with their addon. You can become a subscriber to their guides, for a low monthly fee, or a yearly fee, which gives you access to ALL their leveling guides and other guides for World of Warcraft (not WoW Classic). The monthly subscription can be canceled at any time and is one of the most affordable premium leveling guides on the market.

The addon itself will show you all the instructions on your screen inside WoW, like which quests to accept and where and how to complete them and when to hand them in, and a helpful arrow will point you in the direction you need to go until you get there.

Apart from full in-game Dragonflight leveling guides, they’ve also included a Drachtyr starter area guide, and other content updates for Dragonflight that will help you complete achievements and get rewards even at max level, and it’s all available immediately when you become a member/subscriber,

Summary

As you can see, there are a few leveling guides for Dragonflight to choose from. The best ones charge a fee to use them. My personal choice for leveling my characters is Zygor Guides. They have been the best-selling leveling guides for WoW and WoW Classic for many years, as far as I know. But there are other options too. At this time, I am not aware of any really good step-by-step leveling guide or addon that is free, however. Fortunately, Zygor, Dugi and Rested XP guides are relatively affordable.

There are, of course, some free addons that you can use, some of which are mentioned above, especially if you’re an experienced player and don’t need that much guidance. However, the easiest option to level in Shadowlands is most likely a premium leveling guide, for example Zygor.

RestedXP leveling addon

RestedXP have created various leveling guides for Dragonflight in the form of an addon, that you can get on their website www.restedxp.com. They have various options to choose from depending on your needs. If you only need to go from 60 to 70, you can purchase only that guide, which is then viewed inside WoW by using their addon, if I understand correctly. If you need 1-60 or 1-70 guides you can buy those for Horde or Alliance separately, or both factions and get a discount. In fact, the best value for money at this time seems to be the their Horde + Alliance 1-70 guides.

RestedXP (or RXP for short) guides are made to be beginner-friendly, and cover all class and race combinations, and the starting zone for the new Drachtyr Evoker class. They also work with all XP modifiers, such as rested experience or other bonuses, according to their website.

If you want to see if it’s right for you, you can test the 1-20 leveling part of their guides for free by downloading them from their website. If you like them you can then buy the guides you want.

Timer Bars

  • Tanks — Defensive cooldowns and resources are finite; once they’re depleted it will take some time for them to come off cooldown or refresh, so it’s best to use them during the deadliest parts of the encounter both to ensure that you live as well as reduce the healing required by your healers to keep you alive. Timers can then help you predict the most dangerous parts of the encounter and coordinate with your co-tank, healers, etc. how to most effectively utilize your defensive abilities.
  • Healers — Similarly to tanks, healing cooldowns and mana are finite. While you might be able to heal through a large damage event without a major healing cooldown, the necessary healing will take a large toll on your mana and therefore your ability to heal at full strength at later parts of the encounter. Effectively predicting when damage will occur and on what players will better help you prepare and react appropriately. In addition knowing when there will be a lull in mechanics can help you time a valuable Leytorrent Potion.
  • DPS — Pooling resources or saving cooldowns for problematic enemy spawns or enemy vulnerability phases can be critical to not only maximizing your damage but also reducing incoming damage on your raid or party.
  • Everyone — A lot of mechanics are either completely avoidable or mitigable via a defensive or positioning. Knowing where to be and when can simplify a lot of mechanics and open up a lot of the area during encounters.
